The Mayor's Commission for Children is committed to encouraging and supporting the development of early childhood programs in Springfield and educating the community about the necessity of early childhood education. Since our inception in 2004, we've worked quietly but persistently to mobilize the community to address and impact systemic issues that affect our youngest citizens and therefore the future and well-being of our city.
The group is intended to act as a catalyst to mobilize and educate our community concerning the health and well being of local youth and to provide an unbiased report on community progress with respect to these issues. Original members selected from the "Every Kid Counts" Board of Directors.
